A&R Music1.com Internships (Right Place, Right Time and Right Opportunity) We accept your internship as a professional obligation and business partnership to help develop your A&R skill-set for the future of the music industry. As the music industry reinvents itself to take advantage of opportunities created by technology and the Internet, more entertainment employers are looking to innovative internship programs as a primary provider of road-tested, full-time executive talent for their organizations. The purpose of our internship program is to provide you with valuable on-the-job training and supplemental learning experience while assisting our company and partners to meet strategic business goals. During your 4-6 month internship you’ll have ongoing opportunities to develop "real life" business skills and hands-on experience to put to use in your career. As an A&R intern you will develop a deeper understanding of the work and skills required to discover, develop, shop and place marketable talent in the emerging digital music industry. Based on your development and performance through assignments we will team you up with artist representatives and record executives from our A&R Hookup network for special project opportunities. This rare inside exposure and experience will play an important role in molding and shaping you as a potential A&R and give you an opportunity to develop industry relationships. A&R Music1.com Internships are available in the following areas:
Internship Term (4-6 months)The initial internship is from two to six months with an evaluation at 2 and 4 months. Time RequirementsWe will meet with you to determine: · length of your individual internship · number of hours per day and days of the week · adequate hours are provided to receive college credit and experience. Job DutiesYour job duties will depend on your genre and market. Below is a list of potential A&R intern assignments. We will meet with you individually to help determine your assign tasks and team you with other interns, artist reps and management.

Note: Please become familiar with Microsoft Outlook. Compensation OpportunitiesInternships provide a supplemental learning experience and hands-on training. All internships with A&R Music1.com and its subsidiaries are exempt from salary. However, interns are eligible to earn affiliate referral commissions through our Artist Rep sales campaigns for the A&R Live Hookup program, as well as finder fees on talent placements for entertainment employment (i.e. record, publishing and licensing deals) College CreditA&R Music1.com and the Intern will determine the length of your internship, the number of hours per day and days per week to insure adequate hours are provided to receive college credit. Many internship programs require 50 hours of work per credit and allow students to earn up to three elective credits. Please check with your college or university internship guidelines and provide A&R Music1.com the required documentation for compliance. Beyond the InternshipIn general, interns are not guaranteed employment upon completion of their internship. However, you may apply for full-time and part-time positions as well as other programs. Upon request and satisfactory performance of your internship A&R Music1.com will provide you with a letter of recommendation for your prospective employers and accept calls for verbal references. EvaluationTo make sure A&R Music1.com and the intern meet mutual development goals, an evaluation will be held at a half-point of the internship term. For internships that end in six months A&R Music1 management will give a close-out evaluation. Evaluations will focus on: · work quality · productivity and completed assignments · execution · dependability and punctuality · customer and relationship maintenance · strengths and weaknesses · creativity, professionalism and teamwork Note: Internship extensions beyond a 4-6 months period depend on a favorable evaluation, A&R Music1.com business needs, and your college internship guidelines. |
